Teresa Priest

We are very sad to report the death of our former colleague Teresa Priest. She worked here from February 2010 to March 2019, when she moved to take up a Grants Manager post at Trust for London.

Teresa showed great committment to our grantees and made a significant contribution to the development of our Peer Support Network as well as managing the Step Up programme piloting in-work progression support for those trapped in low paid work. 

Her many achievements include co-founding Kingston Users’ Forum, after which she worked for Mental Health Media delivering media skills training and PR to user groups across England and Wales. She then joined and later managed user-run Southwark Mind, acting as a key spokesperson in a campaign which delayed the closure of the Maudsley Hospital Emergency Clinic for three years and secured NHS funding for “a safe and segregated” mental health area at Kings Hospital A&E.
