Who we are, what we do
We're Lambeth's local grantmaking charity. We make grants to help good things happen for those who need a hand up.
Amongst other projects, we're funding additional tuition in Lambeth schools covering everything from literacy to music and poetry; work with those at risk of dropping out of education; support for refugees and migrants; debt counselling; careers advice; job-readiness skills; ESOL; after-school and homework groups; bursaries for courses and degrees; resettlement after homelessness or domestic violence; school trips; counselling, and more.
By changing individual Lambeth lives we're helping build Lambeth's social capital and economic growth, reducing inequality and helping nurture our borough's rich and varied communities.
Our history dates from the 17th century. Our work is to break cycles of financial deprivation for people living in Lambeth. We offer a hand up, not a hand out, and seek to tackle poverty by creating opportunity.
Over the ten years to March 2017 we made grants amounting to almost £19 million: 2,189 grants to individuals and 1,434 grants to organisations and schools. Please take a look around our site and find out about our grants, our approach or read our latest news.
