We have awarded £60,000 to London Music Masters (LMM) for itsr Bridge Project Lambeth Hub. This is LMM's flagship education programme which takes intensive high quality violin teaching into primary schools in areas of real financial need. They work with every child in the school during their first three years (ages 4-7). During this time they provide each child their own violin and over 90 minutes tuition a week. From Year 3 onwards the Bridge Project continues to be delivered to a proportion of the students (around 40%) until the end of their primary education.
LMM recruits tutors from the country’s leading music conservatoires. In addition LMM works in partnership with venues and orchestras including the Wigmore Hall, the Southbank Centre and the London Philharmonic Orchestra to provide the children with a range of performance and workshop opportunities. The Bridge Project involves parents and encourages them to play an active role in supporting their child’s practice and development.
