Grants to projects and organisations
We make grants to organisations and projects providing services to people living in Lambeth as a means of delivering our objectives for individuals.
Organisations we support
Our grants are targeted at organisations that provide direct services to Lambeth’s most financially deprived residents and seek to address and redress the issues they face.
We are especially interested in proposals that are aimed at supporting disadvantaged people in improving their prospects and becoming financially self-supporting. Funded organisations are concerned with the advancement of education (broadly defined) and the relief of financial need.
Applications for research and evaluation may be considered (but for research proposals see here). There is precedent for funding running, capital and project costs.
Organisations are asked to familiarise themselves – via this website - with our various grants programmes for individuals (grants to individuals/families in need, student grants and the Walcot & St Thomas’ Bursary). As a grant maker that exists for the benefit of financially disadvantaged individuals in Lambeth, we monitor applications that grant recipient organisations make on behalf of their clients/users. If organisations refer successfully we know they are working with the individuals the Lambeth Endowed Charities were set up to assist and this does inform grant awards to the organisation.
We have both small (generally £1000 or less) and large grant programmes (typically under £20,000, often less and sometimes considerably more). Please choose below for further information.

"Working in partnership with other local services to enhance and complement services – and not duplicate them - is encouraged"
The Governors adopt a flexible approach to both new ideas and the ‘tried and tested’. They are willing to take risks. Applications from organisations that may find it difficult to raise funds are welcome.
