When will I hear?

We are often asked about when decisions on grants are made.

Decisions on small grants (grants to individuals and grants to organisations/schools under £5K) are made on a rolling basis throughout the year. We aim to deal with these applications within six weeks of receiving the completed application and all supporting documents.

Recommendations for larger grants are considered first by a committee of our Governors and then decided at meetings of the full trustee Board. These take place roughly every four months.

We negotiate application deadlines with each organisation applicant separately. When you ring a member of the grants team to discuss a potential application, we will discuss an appropriate application deadline that suits both you and us. We will also let you know when you can expect your application to be considered by the Board of Governors.

No guarantee is ever made about which applications will be considered at which meeting, even if any application deadline has been met. Ensuring that an application is clear and complete and that a site visit can be easily arranged does greatly increase the likelihood that your application will be submitted to the next Board meeting.
