Larger Grants Programme Guidelines

Our larger grants are generally in excess of £5000 and may be much greater.

We look for organisations and projects that equip and enable individuals and families to improve their financial circumstances through education, training, mentoring and other effective services.

The capacity to track clients over time (even after they have left the service) is a 'plus' as is the possibility of working intensively with a particular client or client group.

We are concerned with the quality of outputs, not just quantity and we like independent evaluations of projects and programmes. We are often just as interested in who you are not reaching as who you are. What went wrong and what can be done differently next time is as interesting to us as success.

Information on what we do not fund.

A site visit is required for all large grants.

There is no ‘maximum’ grant amount. Grants are typically under £30,000 – many well under £30,000 and a few well over. The amount of a grant depends on the interaction of a number of factors, particularly the potential of the intervention/service to enable individuals and families to move toward financial self-sufficiency.

Please note that for the remainder of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 our available funding is focused exclusively on raising educational aspirations and achievement for Lambeth children and young people from financially disadvantaged households.

How to apply
Applicants are required to discuss their ideas with us before completing an initial proposal form. If we are satisfied with the initial proposal we will invite you to complete a 'stage 2' application form which we will email to you.

When grants are awarded, recipients must agree to our standard terms and conditions
