This is important information:
please read before proceeding

We make grants to individuals for the following purposes -

  • costs associated with (a) a further education or vocational training course that has a strong likelihood of leading to work or further studies or (b) a first degree
  • costs associated with taking on work experience that has a strong likelihood of leading to work or further studies
  • costs associated with making the transition from long-term benefits dependency to employment
  • costs associated with a young person developing a special talent
  • costs associated with an educational need or opportunity that statutory funding does not cover

We offer a hand up, not a hand out.  We exist to enable Lambeth residents move from financial poverty to financial self-sufficiency.  We believe that education is the best route out of poverty.

If an individual is committed to making a long-term sustainable change to his/her financial circumstances through education or training that has a strong likelihood of leading to employment, then we are here to help.

Similarly, we are here to help young people from financially disadvantaged households develop their full potential.

If, on the other hand, the grant request is related to improving a home, enhancing quality of life or helping someone from a professional background who has temporarily fallen on hard times, then we are not the charity for you (or your client).

If we are not the appropriate charity there is a way of finding those charities that may be able to help. See right hand box.

If your request fits our programmes, please read below...

Please note that this is a ‘first stage’ application form.  It is very likely that we will come back to applicants with further questions.  We may ask that you find a recognised referrer to assist you with the next stages of your application.
