Employment advice and guidance for our grant recipients
The Walcot Foundation funds Ingeus UK to offer Employment Advice and Guidance to Lambeth residents who have a relationship with the Walcot Foundation.
The Walcot Careers Advisor (CA) offers a flexible one-to-one service aimed at helping people find work which matches their skills and interests.
Participants can be assisted with mock interviews and be supported to prepare CVs.
Our CA has regular contact with participants to review their progress and a discretionary travel and interview clothing fund is available.
In order to ensure all participants are best placed to find the latest and most appropriate vacancies, Ingeus provides access to its fully-resourced in-house Job Station (a supervised job search facility) equipped with free Internet access, ‘Hot Jobs’ boards, industry journals, local/national newspapers, free telephones, and details of local employment initiatives and work experience opportunities.
Participants also have access to a menu of on-site workshops including ‘Interview Techniques’, ‘Cold Calling Employers’ or one of Ingeus’s ‘Working in…’ sessions.
Ingeus also provides access the Condition Management Programme workshops which include well-being topics such as ‘Sleep and Routine’ and ‘Healthy Eating’.
Students who are current or recent Walcot Foundation grant recipients are eligible for this service, as are those participating in projects funded by us.
We expect all of our student grant beneficiaries to find summer vacation work or work experience related to their course of study. Ingeus can help with this.
Lambeth residents who live in a household in receipt of out-of-work benefits or earning very low wages and who are affiliated with an organisation that receives Walcot Foundation grants are also eligible for this service.
